CatTend has no servers of its own. Everything you enter stays on your device and, when iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot access. CatTend has no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs, and it does not sell or share personal data.
Your cat's profile (name, birthday, adoption date, sex, breed and your answers to the setup questions), care routine, task history, reminders, moments, weight and medical records are stored with Apple's SwiftData. When you are signed in to iCloud, this data syncs through the private CloudKit database of your Apple Account so it appears on your other devices. Apple stores it under its privacy policy; the developer has no access to your private iCloud database. Without iCloud, the data stays on the device only.
App preferences, your first name and, if you shared it, your email address are stored locally in the app's settings and are not synced or sent anywhere.
CatTend reads only the photos and clips you pick in the system photo picker. The camera is used only when you choose to capture a moment, and the microphone only to record sound with a video. Media you add is stored in the app and in your private iCloud database as described above.
If you sign in with Apple, CatTend receives an anonymous, app-specific identifier from Apple and, only if you choose to share them, your name and email address. The identifier is kept in the device Keychain so CatTend can recognise your account on a new device. Nothing is sent to the developer. You can stop using Sign in with Apple for CatTend at any time in iOS Settings › Apple Account › Sign in with Apple.
Care reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server or notification service receives your data.
The CatTend Pro subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. CatTend uses Apple's StoreKit on your device to check whether your subscription or free trial is active. We do not receive your payment details or Apple Account information.
You can edit or delete any record in the app. Settings › Remove removes a cat and its records; Settings › Erase all data deletes all cats, routines, moments and health records from the device and, with iCloud on, from your private iCloud database. Settings › Sign out of Apple ID removes the stored Apple identifier from the device. You can also manage CatTend's iCloud data in iOS Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. Deleting the app removes local data but does not cancel a subscription.
CatTend is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs such as IP addresses.
